Found: Okay, Okay you were all correct and I should know better than to doubt you. I kept going into Susan Foster's series and once I found Dan Slater I realized, yes in fact it was the series I'd been desperately trying to remember. So thank you all. And especially thank you for a number of new stories that I had yet to find!
