Slash AU with genetically engineered guides and more!
I used to have this linked, but I apparently lost it a while ago. Something reminded me of this one story... so here goes!
It was an AU where Sentinels are identified and known and get guides that are genetically designed to work well/be docile. Jim had one named something like Emile who died of TB before the story. He needs a new guide to keep from, like, dying and Blair is a feral guide that he picks because he's ugly and Jim can't possibly get attached to him. It ends up totally Jim/Blair and Jim's father is, like, a mastermind of trying to control Jim's life.
There's a bunch more, but I'm worried I might get multiple stories mixed up if I keep writing. That's the gist of the story. I hope someone can find it! It's been driving me nuts since I thought about it.
