Okay, I remember everything about this story except the title and where to find it. I do have the odd feeling I found it here, reading through the comments.
Blair injures his leg and him and Jim go on a vacation.
Blair spends time at a bookstore run by a man named Sam (I want to say his last name is Weatherman).
There's a pub that's really old, Blair talks about how the term "slipping a mickey" to someone came about as well as the term "shanghai" or forcing men into service.
The man Sam is writing a family history, his family and the local rich family have bad blood between them so he decides to do something drastic for revenge, I don't remember what.
He knocks out Blair while he's in his store reading and stores Blair in a little hut near the ocean where he gets hypothermia, thinking Jim will find Blair.
That's where my memory stops, I can't remember the end! I will be forever in debt of the kind person who points me in the direction of this story. It's driving me crazy.
Thank You.
