Jim and Blair kidnapped

I know I didn't dream this but darned if I can find it again. Jim and Blair are kidnapped by Brackett (I think) and taken to a house in the middle of nowhere. They manage to set fire to the house and it blows up real good, but before they can escape they are recaptured. They are put in a van to be transported somewhere else but are stopped by a second set of bad guys who put Jim in their car and take off with him. Jim causes the car to crash and escapes down a gully which he follows to the coast and ends up at the mayor's fancy summer house. There is a glass sculpture in the yard that ends up totally destroyed.
