Update on Kerensa.
Update on Kerensa as of June 14, 2015.
I called and talked to her to see how she's doing now that she's home from the nursing home. She sounds so good. Hard to believe she had a stroke three months ago. She doesn't slur her words at all. She's now back to using the walker, it makes her a little more steady on her feet. She fell twice in the last two weeks, but these things happen until you get used to the surroundings all over again. She's doing fine and is able to check email now and then. She said she had 1800 emails not including her full spam folder. It's going to take a long, long while for her to catch up with everyone. She's so happy to be out of the nursing home. She has physical therapy three times a day, she does that on her own so far. The therapist never showed up after telling her how important the daily routine is with therapy. Really good at their jobs, wouldn't you say? But she does speech therapy once a day and just walks and gets up and down to see how that will go. She lifts five pound weights on her wrists and her ankles. Heck, I don't know that I could do that. I think she sounds really well. She's a little upset about not being back to normal yet, but I told her after what the doctor said, she's lucky to be alive, let alone back to normal. It takes time. She thanks everyone for all of the prayers, good thoughts and cards. She feels like that helped her get better faster. But if you have a moment, maybe you could drop a card, or send her a little Sentinel snippet. She would love that. I'm going to do one up tonight, I think. If anyone needs the address again, please don't hesitate to ask for it. And for you artists out there, she would love artwork, too. She loves the fandom so much and she has missed us all a great deal. Hopefully she'll be back in the group soon.
