The way I pictured Jim's first encounter with Blair was that he was drawn to him, but didn't know why,(Yep, hello libido and sentinel/guide type stuff) and that added to the crankiness he was already experiencing, and then he'd had a few beers, and he kept filtering all of the rest of the encounters with Blair through his initial impression of Blair being a player. He didn't get it totally wrong. The coach had a sexual reaction to Blair focusing his spiel on him and Blair was looking at the professor's breasts. It helped to keep Jim thinking of Blair's actions in the worst light.

So, yep, not thinking with the upstairs brain much at all. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Beth's artwork was terrific.

ETA Oh, never mind the following idiocy. My mind blanked out the fact that I didn't actually post this, so of course I don't get emails about it. I feel I should own up to being a moron, though, so I'm leaving my question.

Now a mod type question. None of these comments are coming to my email or even to my lj home page. Is that normal for this comm? I haven't checked the spam folder, but I'm getting other LJ comments in my inbox.

Well, I don't think it's a silly question. I disabled comment notifications to myself on these posts because I didn't want to get everyone else's feedback in my email. AFAIK that wouldn't stop someone else clicking the button to track comments, but LJ change things so often it could make a difference. But, yeah, you'd have to actually track the post to get the emails :)

I added tracking comments to my setting. I rarely use it and it had slipped my mind that I could do that. Thanks for reminding me.
