It's been an amazing couple of weeks with Dark City, Edinburgh and Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig. I have seen a number of amazing bands and caught up with many people from all around the world, including my friend Caz, irreve_rant who I haven't seen since I left Melbourne over 16 months ago.

Dark City Festival was amazing.
Let's take a peep at all the fun had with friends...
Here's some photos of the bands at Dark City...

A couple of days later, purpledonna and myself headed down to London for a night, before flying out to Leipzig. We stayed in a rather nice Hilton Hotel right next to Stanstead Airport. The next morning we caught a plane to ryan air's Altenburg airport which is roughly an hour and a half out from Leipzig. A number of familar faces were also on the plane such as jonny_eol allezbleu & irreve_rant.

From the airport, we caught a taxi with some Londoners into town where we shopped for groceries and then caught a tram to our Hotel which was 15 minutes west of the centre. The hotel was lovely, the room containing a mini bar, yet strangely enough, no kettle.

We saw so many bands over the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, including Accessory, Imperative Reaction, Destroid, SITD, Beborn Beton, Frozen Plasma, Solitary Experiments, Reaper, Glis, Tactical Sekt, God Module, Sonar, Feindflug & And One. Glis was very disappointing with the poorest of sound. The live lyrics also differed considerable from the studio versions. Most enjoyable were Destroid, Frozen Plasma and Feindflug. Solitary Experiments were better than expected with their vocal performance and God Module surprised me with an intense stage presence. Feindflug blew me away with their stage props. 8 men taking to a stage, 4 on acoustic drums, 2 keyboardists, 1 guitarist and 1 wee man strapped to an electrical chair. And One were also fantastic but I expected that they would be. For most of these bands purpledonna and I had front row positions along the barrier.

Here's a quick snap of some of the bands at WGT...
