The Joke

I always feel compelled to update my lj, even if it's with the most banal and inane of entries, whenever I add someone new to friends list, or vice-versa. It is a compulsion. I cannot help it anymore than I can help cracking open a new book I've bought even while I flail to finish another I'm mid-way through completing. So yes, here is my tribute to my incontrollable tic, because I just added Azleen to my friends-list.

I was a bit more than halfway through The Joke this morning, until the parental units brought me to Borders for a $111.48 bookbuying spree.
The last few minutes I have spent sitting through an internal war between completing the last 100 or so pages of aforementioned book, or commencing Moby Dick. Decided to give up and just blog, cos I'm eating anyway and it's better to eat and blog than eat and read because it's unlikely that custard will fall onto a screen. Gravity, and all that, you know.

My mother, she are make bread and buttah pudding for I. I am just going to eat it recklessly now though, since this coming week's Dance Night week and I hope that means somehow calories will just dissipate readily enough. I want to be commitment-less. Or at least shorn of official commitments so that I can make my own, more desirable, commitments, so to speak. I only have a month in which to do so before I get whisked away on LIT TRIP LIT TRIP it is a mantra that fills me with everlasting hope. Rachel and I have concurred that from now til the event, 'Lit Trip' is going to replace both 'Hello' and 'Goodbye' for us, much as Aloha serves the Hawaiians (:
