[OPEN] Topped Chef
He cuts quite a figure as he strides into the kitchen, impeccable in the white clothes of an executive chef. Sousuke Aizen, head judge of a competition as fiendishly difficult as it is prestigious, steeples his hands over his chest and gives the assembled contents a smile that would almost be benign were it not for its sharpness.
"It's often said that food is the best way to a person's heart," he begins, almost gentle save for the deliberate precision in each word. "I disagree. However, you'll all be given a chance to try to persuade me otherwise in this next challenge."
A subtle gesture, and assistants begin wheeling in a long table on which have been placed eight dishes covered in opaque black netting.
"You are all going to create the most seductive three-course meal you can cook. It should go straight for the heart--" another sharp white smile, "--or for other... regions." He's no longer bothering to hide his smirk, nor the smug calm in the way his fingers unfurl and tap at the table's surface to emphasize the presence of the dishes there. "You will be required to use one of these ingredients in every dish you create."
Quite easy. So far.
"However."
Another minimal gesture, and the same assistants move to bring out a box filled with cloth and rope. Aizen whips the coverings off each dish, but the sides of the bowls are high enough that it's impossible to see what they contain.
"You will be blindfolded with your hands tied behind your back while you choose your required ingredient. If you happen to touch any of the ingredients with any part of your body while choosing, that ingredient will automatically become your required ingredient." One long-fingered hand reaches out to tap the button on the timer at the front of the room, even as the other dips into one of the dishes in a careless swipe. He brings it up to his mouth. Licks.
Smiles again, slowly.
"You have three hours. Good luck."
