An odd change which has happened recently, is I have found myself listening to a lot more Folk Music than I used. I mean before I definitely liked some acoustic Rock, like Elliott Smith, and Jeff Buckley. But I don't think those really count as folk.
I'm not quit sure where it started. I think the point when folk music started to really creep into my mind was when I listened to Neutral Milk Hotel's "In an Aeroplane Over the Sea" and Dallas Green's Album "Sometimes". It's not like I have completely stopped listening to metal, but I have found I also like Folk.
The thought of it got pushed significantly along after I went to the "Folk Fest" in Vancouver, and I heard a number of artists which I really liked including the awesome Dan Mangan. Since then I have been listening to more of Conor Oberst and M. Ward , because they are pretty good too.
Maybe I'm just old now.
