HEAVEN'S ON FIRE

Intro. BROOKE FRASER | Orphans, Kingdom
A folk stroll along the countryside, with a light clapping that accompanies the vocals, that only gets louder and louder, as insistent as an battalion.
1. Kings of Convenience | Weight of My Words (Four Tet Remix)
Hazy, spinning and muted.
2. The Tallest Man on Earth | King of Spain
A rustic, drawling wail that for whatever reason pulls you in anyways as it goes on about fanciful monarchy dreams and serious wanderlust.
3. Lord Huron | When Will I See You Again (White Sea Remix)
Stuttering, echoing, reverberating like you're in a church, but has a reckless flair and sprinkles of synths.
4. Era | Caccini + Redemption + Ave Maria (Vivaldi)
Classic mashup, as everything is weaved in together into a surprising cohesive movement.
5. Goldmund | John Harrington
Somber, stark, and unadorned. Minimalist.
6. William Fitzsimmons | Funeral Dress
Quiet, a little sad and gloomy.
7. Matt Pond PA | Love to get Used
Slightly a bit more upbeat, cute and sweet.
8. Yonderboi | Before You Snap
Foreboding, droning, and hypnotic.
9. Giana Factory | Rainbow Girl (Glasser Remake)
For a song called 'Rainbow Girl', it's pretty noir. Heavy-hitting and like a somber dance routine. Still beautiful.
10. The Civil Wars | No Ordinary Love (Sade Cover)
Pleading, insistent, and plays along the heart strings. They whisper, and yet you're left straining to hear every single note.
11. Cocorosie | Lemonade
Unorthodox is one way to put it. Another might be hallucination inducing with streams of saxaphone and raspy vocals. Still worth the drug-free trip.
12. Sebastian Tellier | La Ritournelle (Mr. Dan's Mix)
And finally, a bright light at the end, with twinkling chimes and sweet guitars. "I want to spend my life with you," repeated over and over again.
