Minotaur B4, Sunday morning

Jim needed to sleep.

Yesterday . . . let's not even talk about yesterday. He had survived detention, and then he had gone and looked after Lana like he was supposed to, and then he had crawled into bed and now he was sleeping.

Because if he thought about detention he was going to punch something.

After visiting Trenor, Lana quietly made her way back to their alcove. She poked her head in, checking to see if Jim was still sleeping, then carefully curled up next to him to read her book while he slept.

Jim instinctively curled around her, making a bit more space for her to sit without waking up.

Lana smiled at his carefulness of her and tried not to move around to much in order to let him sleep as long as possible.

Finally Jim stirred and draped his arm around her. "C'mere," he mumbled fuzzily.

Lana marked her page in the book and put it down before turning to him and snuggling in close. "I'm here," she said softly. "You should sleep."

"How's the head?" he asked quietly, nuzzling into her hair.

[lovelylana]

"Hurts," Lana said. "But I think maybe it's a little better."

[sensitivejim]

Jim grumbled a bit. "Sorry I wasn't around yesterday . . ."

[lovelylana]

"It's not like it was your fault," Lana soothed. "You had detention. Sorry I was so out of it when you got back. I sort of walked into town to see Phoebe and I wasn't feeling so good when I got home so I took some of the pain medication."

Jim frowned a little. "You should have waited, I could have taken you."

"I know, but I'd wanted to see her Friday and you know I couldn't even really get out of bed that day. I didn't want to wait till evening since I didn't know how I'd feel, so..." Lana sighed. "I probably should have waited."

Jim stroked her side slowly. "Are you alright?"

[lovelylana]

She sighed. "I overdid a bit, so I'm a little more miserable than yesterday. And the nightmares. God, I just want to be able to sleep all the way through the night without scaring myself awake."

[sensitivejim]

"We'll get there," Jim said quietly, cuddling her close. "Just give it time."

[lovelylana]

"I know," she said. "And I feel so bad that you have to bear the brunt of it. I's not fair."

[sensitivejim]

"Considering what you have to put up with from me, I think it's more than fair," Jim countered, smiing softly.
