Title: Happy End
Pairing: Jessica/Tiffany
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 1939w

A/N: One of my rare JeTi fics. Tiffany still belongs to Taeyeon though! :P

Tiffany was a sucker for romantic comedies.

From Molly Ringwald dancing in the library during detention to Katherine Heigl adopting a baby with that irritatingly handsome guy from “Transformers”, she knew them all.

They were awfully predictable and stupid and too much of them could result in an unrealistic perception of love, but still, they sucked her in, like a black hole, swallowing her into an alternate universe where people trip and stumble over something ridiculous like a leaf and then the jerk who catches them turns out to be the love of their life, but only after a series of predictable twists and turns, of course.

So Tiffany felt like reenacting a scene from one of those movies when she carelessly bumped into a, back then, blonde girl on campus, spilling hot coffee all over her shirt.

Yes, Hugh Grant would have been very proud of her.

It wasn’t exactly love at first sight. Love didn’t really blossom so easily over a ruined Versace shirt and slight scalding on the blonde’s chest area, but after finally overcoming the obstacle of hating each other, Tiffany was still a blind cow but a very cute one, they started dating and Jessica, now brown-haired, eventually moved in with Tiffany.
And if this would be romantic comedy, they’d share a sweet kiss in the light-flooded living room while unpacking the boxes, before the perfect picture of the lovey-dovey couple would fade out, making place for a “HAPPY END” in big, bold letters and the credits would begin to roll, accompanied by some feel-good acoustic guitar song,

but this was not rom-com universe.

There was no music, nor a sweet kiss, only two very stressed, panting women running up and down the stairs, the elevator just decided to be on maintenance that day and a huge fight over the bigger part in the shoe closet, resulting to Tiffany spending the night on the couch.

Happy end, as real as it could get.

And living with Jessica Jung was far from what Tiffany called easy or harmonious. As much as she loved the girl with the warm heart hidden behind her cold demeanor, Jessica tired and exhausted her, physically and mentally, with her unreasonable antics.

Jessica is grumpy and moody when she sleeps less than nine hours straight, a walking something of snarky remarks and the bitch queen herself if you wake her up before lunch on weekends.

And she hated cucumbers, which Tiffany would frequently forget.

“I feel sick.” Jessica wrinkled her nose in disgust and pushed the plate as far as possible away. She’d rather starve to death than to let this green thing come anywhere near her mouth.

“Gosh, it’s only salad.” Tiffany said, trying to sound as calm as possible, though her voice showed slight annoyance at her girlfriend’s behavior. She poked at piece of lettuce.
She was not sure if chopping up vegetables and mixing them in a bowl counts as cooking but the fact that she made an effort to actually use their kitchen, was an improvement and she didn’t expect Jessica to praise her, or anything but to at least take a bite from that goddamn salad.

The younger girl demonstratively put a piece of cucumber in her mouth, chewing soundly before swallowing it.

“Oh my god, you ate it!” Jessica dramatically covered her mouth with one hand, eyes widened in shock, like Tiffany was going to fall off the chair and wince in pain any minute because cucumbers were poisonous and deadly like that.

Tiffany rolled her eyes.

“One bite won’t kill you. Trust me, it’s delicious. I made it!” She strongly stressed the last three words, hoping that it would change her girlfriend’s mind and the plate with the despised vegetable was pushed back in front of Jessica who moved back in her chair, keeping her distance from her dinner.

“How do you know that it won’t kill me?”

Tiffany was sure that her patience was being tested once again, like so many times before in this relationship and she suppressed the urge to shove the salad down her girlfriend’s throat.

“Okay, leave the cucumbers then. Just eat the tomatoes and the rest.”

Compromises were essential in a relationship with Jessica.

“The taste will be everywhere. Can’t I have something else?”

“No, Jessi. There’s nothing else than this salad. Eat it or leave it.” Tiffany gritted through her teeth and forcefully tried to stab the cherry tomato with the fork. There was a loud clunk when the fork hit the ceramic and the tomato rolled from the plate, leaving a trail of vinaigrette on the clean tablecloth before it was stopped by Jessica’s plate of untouched salad.

Jessica raised a brow. She spent enough time with Tiffany to know what that action meant.

“You can’t be possibly angry at me now, are you?” The older girl asked, her voice filled with slight amusement over the situation, which Tiffany interpreted as a mock.

“You know what? Let’s skip dinner today.” Tiffany rashly got up, almost throwing her chair over. “I’m not hungry anyway.” Cutlery clattered loudly as she grabbed both plates and stomped back to the kitchen, with Jessica following her close behind.
The kitchen was a mess, with half-cut vegetables and dirty dishes from earlier, scattered on the counter top. The unfinished salad landed with a quick motion in the garbage, before Tiffany loudly slammed down the lid of the garbage bin.

“Come on!” Jessica laughed dryly in disbelief, running her hand through her hair. “You can’t be so childish.”

“Oh, right. I’m childish. And refusing to eat your veggies like a spoiled, little brat is so mature!” Tiffany snapped back, glaring angrily at her girlfriend.

It was silly to fight over such a meaningless matter but there was this indifferent look on Jessica’s face, as if she was completely unaffected by Tiffany’s outburst and it was so irritating having her nonchalant, brown eyes staring back at her when Tiffany was on the verge of jumping on her throat.

“Okay, this is ridiculous.” She said after a pause, arms propped on her hips. Jessica wasn’t the one who would walk out in an argument but this was down-right ridiculous. “You’re obviously on PMS and I don’t like you when you’re on PMS, so good night. I’m going to bed.”

“Yes, go sleep!” Tiffany shouted in frustration, watching Jessica leave the kitchen. She threw a piece of cut cucumber that was lying on the counter but her bad aim made her hit the fridge instead. ”I hope they attack you with cucumbers in your dreams!”

She was sure that even their neighbors heard the slam of their bedroom door.

Tiffany plumped down on a kitchen stool with a sigh and water splattered as she resignedly threw the dishcloth into the sink. “Stupid Jessica.” She muttered under her breath while supporting her head with her arms propped on the kitchen counter. Her stomach rumbled that very moment. A regrettable glance was thrown at the garbage bin. She hadn’t eaten anything the whole day.

Tiffany took out her cell phone and dialed a number.

“Hello. I’d like to order a normal-size Hawaiian pizza.”

Since both of them would most probably burn down the apartment if they ever tried to turn on the stove, the couple ordered pizza at least once a week. Hawaiian style was their standard order, though Jessica never ate the pineapples. Tiffany’s stomach growled again.

“No, make it family-size.”

Tiffany paused.

“Without the pineapples, please.”

Jessica came out of her room shortly after the pizza arrived, though she was still supposed to be sulking over their little argument earlier. Judged by her sour face and the messy hair, she probably tried to sleep but sleeping on an empty stomach didn’t want work.
She let out a hearty yawn and plopped down on the couch next to Tiffany, who was intently staring at the TV screen while taking a bite of a slice of pizza.

“Hawaiian pizza?”

Tiffany nodded absentmindedly, her eyes still glued on the screen. She handed Jessica the pizza box. Jessica opened it and a mouthwatering smell entered her nose.

“There’s no pineapple. Did you already eat all of them?”

“No, I told them not to add pineapple since you don’t like them.”

“Oh.” Jessica carefully took one slice out of the box, supporting the narrow part with her other hand to prevent cheese or sauce dropping on the couch.

“But it’s not Hawaiian pizza then.” She mumbled. Her eyes on the pizza while rearranging the little pieces of ham on it. “You can’t call it Hawaiian without the pineapple.”

“It’s Hawaiian pizza without pineapple.”

“That doesn’t make sense.” Jessica concluded after swallowing. “Pineapple is obligatory for Hawaiian pizza.”

“Why do you suddenly care for the pineapples? I always have to eat all of them for you.”

“Yes, because you love pineapples. Therefore it’s a win-win situation for both of us.” Jessica seriously explained. Tiffany didn’t even bother to respond because arguing about pineapples on pizza was just as pointless as their argument earlier, besides Katherine Heigl was finally getting her date with the hot doctor on TV.

“It’s still not a Hawaiian pizza.”

Tiffany threw her head back in annoyance. “Can we please, stop talking about the pizza?”

Jessica huffed but she knew better than to provoke Tiffany again and therefore stayed silent for a while. They shared the last slice of pizza together, only leaving the thick crust over.

The hot doctor made another appearance on the screen.

“Who is he?” Jessica who missed the first part of the movie, asked and slightly nudged Tiffany with her elbow, signaling her girlfriend to hand her the tissue box.

“The neighbor, she thinks, she’s in love with.”

“He’s hot.” Yes, Jessica was pretty blunt and yes, Tiffany thought he was hot too, but she kept it to herself because some things shouldn’t be spoken out loudly when your girlfriend sat beside you. Jessica obviously didn’t know the rule.

Tiffany turned her gaze to the girl beside her, brows furrowed, about to protest. Hot doctor or not, she still was the jealous type. The younger girl also had this habit of unintentionally pushing up her bottom lip, at the slightest hint of jealousy, which resolved into the cutest pout Jessica had ever seen.

“But you’re hot and cute, so you win.” She said playfully and added a quick peck on Tiffany’s lips before snuggling closer to the younger girl.
It was only a swift touch, barely a kiss but it made her heart swell a little, reminding her that even if they fought over the most stupid things, like salad or pineapples, as the most recent examples, Tiffany didn’t want to be anywhere else than here, snuggled up on the couch with Jessica and quietly watching Katherine Heigl getting a nervous breakdown.

They didn’t always like each other but that didn’t make them love each other any less.

“Don’t ever throw cucumbers at me again.” Jessica faintly whispered, slowly dozing off with eyes closed and head comfortably nestled between her girlfriend’s neck and shoulder. Tiffany chuckled and gently stroked back her hair, brown curls between her fingers, sending a tired Jessica to sleep.

A kissing couple in bed appeared on the screen. Katherine Heigl finally got her man and the credits rolled.

Happy end.

Tiffany looked at the girl in her arms, her chest raising and falling steadily. She pressed a soft kiss on the crown of Jessica’s head, lips curved upwards to a content smile and wondered how to call a “happy end” that went on and on and on…
