Wednesday Morning -- Galactica Point

Aug 02, 2006 08:32

Phoebe had swam around the island from Selkie Cove sometime during the night while she had been focused on her surroundings. She had met many different types of ocean creatures and had seen a lot of pretty shells and things off the coast of the island. Upon swimming further out, she had come across what looked to be an old shipwreck and had plans ( Read more... )

After photography, Angela walked down to the beach, just to see the water. She saw Phoebe from behind, not noticing the tail at first. "Hey, Phoebe. How's it going?"

Phoebe looked up and smiled when she saw Angela. Of course, her tail flapped a little at that moment.

"Hey Angela. I seem to have... uhmm... a tail?"

"That's kind of new," Angela said, frowning a little. "So are you okay? I mean, it's a temporary Fandom thing, right?"

Phoebe smiled at her friend. "Well, I tried to cast a spell last night to change me back, but it didn't seem to work. Thus, still a mermaid." She nodded. "I'm okay, I mean, I feel okay. It's just strange to have had legs and now I have a tail... but the world underwater is fascinating."

Angela frowned more. "That's bad, that the spell didn't work," ANgela said. "Did Piper try? Though it would be kind of cool to get to explore the ocean like that."

Phoebe grinned at her.

"Wait one second, kay?"

She dove under the water and was gone for a second. When she popped back up, she handed a shell to Angela. "There. That's for you."

She shook her head in answer to Angela's other question. "I haven't talked to Piper yet. I talked to Cole, though. I think he's mad about this."

Angela delicately took the shell and turned it over in her hands; it was rosy and cream and felt warm from the water. "Mad?" she echoed. "It's hard to imagine him being mad at you. Unless he thinks you won't come out."

"I think he's mad because I wasn't able to change back and preferred to stay here in the water until Piper could find a way to change me back. But it is nice here and I like the water."

"And it'd be pretty hard for you to walk back to campus right now," Angela said, temporarily forgetting the shimmering thing. "Where'd he want you to go?"

"A bathtub." She seemed insulted about that part. "I like the ocean, it has no secrets that can hurt you."

Okay, that was unexpected. "A bathrtub's tiny," Angela agreed. "Way too small. The pool could work, maybe."

She ran a hand through her hair. "Is that why you did the spell? Secrets?"

Phoebe nodded. A girl would be much more reasonable about this --- like Lana had been.

"Lana was with me when I did the spell. I'm glad this didn't affect her, too."

"It might be kind of nice to have another mermaid to hang out with," Angela said. "But yeah, it's probably better that it's just you."

"Do you need food or anything?"

Phoebe beamed at her. "Food that is not seafood would be wonderful, Angela."

"I'll bring you a burger from Luke's later," Angela promised."Probably handwavily because my player's going to be busy at work this afternoon. And, um, I hope you're back to you soon."

Phoebe bobbed with the water. "I really appreciate that, Angela." Her smile was bright. "Being myself is a good thing, too."
