A week of extreme productivity followed by a very busy weekend....... workity workity no socializing for me.
Spent virtually every waking moment last week after work and this weekend working on the house. Want it to be as worked on as possible before mortgage appraiser comes. Painting is done on the first floor is done. Well, it is done as much as is feasible with one wall still to come down (after appraisal). On Saturday after I finished the painting on the first floor I textured the ceiling above the Brass Structural Support Column. Tried to match what was there and altho it doesn't exactly match, I like the way my section looks better. I then taught a waif and a friend of of his how to run a concrete mixture and pour a concrete floor. We poured just under a ton of crete into a crawlspace. Now we have a vapor barrier, and a bit more storage space. Yesterday I painted the ceiling in our living/dining/front room and painted the walls in the front room.
This morning I met with a contractor who is quoting blowing in open cell foam into the walls.
If anyone has any preferences between cellulose and foam please let me know. I am a bit leery of the whole process as the house being were it is receives a ton of weather. Not sure how I like the idea of pulling up clapboard and putting it back. OTOH I also asked this guy to quote it with me doing the opening and closing, so If I go that route I have a bit more control.
Also I am going to want to get my floors sanded and finished..... any recommendations for someone inexpensive but of reasonable quality?
