Update
Shoulder/Biceps: I got clearance today from both my physical therapist and surgeon to climb silks again! This is with restrictions....no dropping on it and avoid contorting while putting stress on it. Yay 6 weeks and 3 days after the shoulder surgery. Originally I was told this would be 4-6 months. Yay for fast healing. The surgeon wants to seem me in a month at which point barring complications he is going to send me off on my own! Yay! Best of all I will be able to teach silks at Firefly this weekend!
Merry-go-round: Was up and working now it is apart and waiting to be stuffed in a van headed to Vermont. Many thanks to all who came and helped. I would be several years away from finishing without all of your help. I expect to show it at Firefly, and then set it up in the backyard again for a month so we can write some interesting sequences for the lights before we take it down again to send off to Burning Man. Currently the lights are changing colors, but I imagine with a bit of time we can program in some effects that really take advantage of the spinny nature of the beast.
