Today I rode my bicycle to work for the first time since the shoulder surgery 4.5 weeks ago. Riding was no problem whatsoever! I am very pleased with the speed of my recovery. When I first talked to the Doc he figured it would be 3-4 months before I would be able to ride a bike again. Yay for fast recovery. Some areas of motion still give me difficulty and the whole arm is rather weak, but getting better steadily. My physical therapist figures I can think about silks again in another 2-3 months.
Merry-go-round. I had expected to put it all together on Saturday, but had an order of operations eit and had to spend the afternoon finishing up the electrical slip rings before assembling it. It would have gone up Sunday, but work crew was small due to very last minute announcement and mid-day t-storms.
clara_girl started the programming process, and I was able to get the wireless communications set up and tested so other parts of the process are a bit further along than planned. Next weekend there will be work parties Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we will assemble the entire structure/lights and start mounting the power supplies. Sunday we will finish mounting the power supplies and harden the wiring, add bracing where ever we see need, and do some final decorating. The following weekend we can work on it a bit on Saturday, play on it Saturday night, and then it will need to be taken down on Sunday and prepped for transport to Firefly!
So the call begins now. If you have time to come help this weekend or the following let me know! If you are interested in the programming let me know that as well. I will be having a meeting this week in which I will give programming tutorials and divide labor.
