Today, I worked a golf tournament for Comcast. The many golfers that came through were very white-bread, white-collar, professionals. Several of them, bless their premium-gas loving souls, attempted to conversate with me while waiting for the hole to open up. Here's a general synopsis of how the dialogue went:
(Upper-Class Joe drives up in his golf cart, looking professional in his khaki shorts and golf shoes)
Zach: Good morning!
UCJ: Mornin'. How you doing today?
Zach: Just fine, sir, and yourself?
UCJ: I've met Joe Theismann!
Zach: Well, okay...that's cool.
UCJ: He's a nice guy.
Zach: Yeah, he seems to have that aura about him...
UCJ: You play?
Zach: Golf? No, not really...
UCJ: Me neither (Upper-Class laugh)
Zach: Heh...funny...hey, the hole's open!
UCJ: What? Oh, great!
(Upper-Class Joe plays his hole and moves along)
You know what I love about this job? The people.
And if you believe that one, I should go into politics.
