How clever, Upstart Crow

Tonight was the first full dress rehearsal for Caesar. It went about as well as a first full dress could have gone, which means it can only improve (God Willing). Anyway, during notes, the SM goes around, passing out two copies of paper to everyone. She finally gets to me, and before my eyes I find what I have been searching for during the entire rehearsal process...

A CONTRACT!!

Oh, praise the lord and whoever else needs praising! Finally, the verbal commitment I made to this performing group is no longer valid and now they have my John Hancock that says that indeed I will perform in this show...and attend all the rehearsals...and inform the people in charge when I won't be able to come to rehearsals...

Wait a minute, haven't I been rehearsing this play for the past 6 weeks? And aren't contracts typically given out right before the rehearsal process begins?

No, no, no, something's wrong here.

So, Upstart Crow, I ask you this: What took so freakin' long? Was the reasoning behind this because you thought you'd lose people due to the low amount of money you're giving the performers? Or was it because you were too busy trying to figure out what the hell you were doing with this show?

So good going, Upstart Crow. Real good.

Also, there's a guy in the cast who thinks he knows everything and has an opinion on every note the director gives. Many times I have come close to knocking the shit out of him. The asshole needs to realize he's not the cream of the acting crop. And, yeah, I hope to never work with him again. Ever.

Oh, and I'm still looking for a job.
