collective soul concert tonight. Was a pretty good show. Infact, i'd even go as far to say it was a great show. not amazing - yet great. It took them a couple of songs in the beginning to get into the groove, aand i don't like bands that have extra people on stage just to fill out the sound. Every member should be into it equally. That's ok though because they played compliment, Why Pt. 2, The World I Know, December, Run, Better Now, Home, and a bunch of my other favorite songs. The very best was Gel though. They started with a cool bass thing, and then jumped into the song. That had a lot of energy. The venue was really cool too. Rams Head Live.
Tomorrow is the first football game of the season at the Raven's Stadium in Baltimore. I think we're playing for about 70,000 people which should be fun. We're just doing pregame for halftime, which is like having breakfast for dinner... but it'll be ok. I think we're more than prepared, even though lou became frustrated w/ the section for not having the music memorized. Altogether, everythings coming together really well and on a section level, the trumpets seem a lot closer than last year.
So is there another reason i go to college? Oh yes! Classes! My Computer Science classes seem like they'll be difficult, but interesting. I'm looking forward to actually learning C, and discrete mathematics seems like a lot of the theory that i was already interested in. I changed around my schedule a bit and I'm in linear algebra now, which will definitly be a lot of work, but i'm prepared for it. If i get good grades in all those classes, next semester will be smooth sailing. Then i have to take one more core, which is currently in linguistics which is fairly interesting. It's one of the only classes which fit into my schedule so i'm afraid i'll have to take it. It's ok though, it's not too bad. I still gotta go return my architecture and econ books and buy the new books that i need.
Doug wondered how long it would take the university to notice if we went onto our online course registration and dropped every class except marching band. We predicted we could go an entire semester without them noticing. |
The apartment is so nice. We set it all up so it's just a really chill place to live, and best of all, all my friends are within a minutes walk from me. Unlike last year, i feel so centralized within my friends. Also out of every on campus place i've seen, i think i like ours the best, which is nice because we have the option of keeping it for the next three years.
Oh, the FLUiD cd became finished today. Party it up for that.
