Calorie counting is bunk (no personal offense meant of course) mountain_fawn January 12 2007, 21:15:22 UTC
The thing about calorie counting is you can never do it correctly without carrying around a weight and measure system.

and even moreso you can't determine what the proper number of calories for you to consume is without an entire science and nutrition lab and a pair of experts.

and then on top of that the exact number of calories you ought to consume changes daily based on your desire to lose weight or maintain weight as well as any subtle change in weight and the constantly changing activities!

Incidently if you're trying to lose weight rice isn't a great thing for you. Rice is very starchy and stays in your digestive track longer than rougher foods like most root style and head style veggies. An exception to that rule would be "wild rice" which in fact is not rice at all but a type of grass.

I'd offer suggestions but although everything I've tried has worked for me, I've been lazy and gluttenous and chosen not to continue as I'd rather just live with my sins. Therefore I choose not to give advice unless it's advice I can take myself.
