I got the job! I'm starting work Monday as a counselor in a GLBT center. I remember how tough it was for me to come out, and that was with my family supporting me, so...I hope I can be of help to others.
Not to mention that here, I don't have to hide the fact that I'm gay. I'm still working at the botanical garden, but hopefully I like the new job.
