Step Eighty-One

IF I HAVE TO LOOK AT ANOTHER FILE I WILL SCREAM.

Counseling has been really slow lately, so we've all been stuck in the file room-which has needed a massive sorting for years and this just happens to be the right time to do it. Mie-sensei asked for volunteers to collate and staple some papers, and a riot almost broke out to get out of the file room ( Read more... )

Thank you, Yukimura-kun. I'm well aware that I still have a lot more to work on with Oishi-kun to get my doubles play up to par again.

About Akazawa-kun and Wakato-kun...Please get them to stop arguing soon or I might do something drastic like handcuffing them together for a week.

We all have plenty to work on, but I have a pretty positive outlook of the team so far. It'll be one interesting ride, that's for sure.

If they were handcuffed together, I would have no objections. But as it is, Inui has offered to help develop them into a decent D2.

Of course. I'm looking forward to the time when we get to play tournament games.

Or we can lock them into a storage closet somewhere. That's good to hear.

So am I. I really want to see how we all fare. Already trying to target some weak spots on the other teams. Business as usual. =)

Hmm...I don't think that's a good idea. Storage closets have limited oxygen and lots of sharp objects. Cleanup is messy.

Which is why I favoured the handcuff-them-together-for-a-few-days method. How about a library study room?

Hmm...a library study room would work if we removed the table or padded it so that neither of them could bash each other's head into it. =) I like the way you think.

The table is easily removed, and surely we can borrow some mats from the judo or karate club to pad the room.

=) Will store this idea in my bag of "get them to get along" ideas. It's driving me nuts. They can hate each other all they want off-court, I just want them to work together on it. I've never had to threaten Yuki Wrath so early in the game.

I am giving you advanced warning you that I am this close to beaming them on the back of the head each with a laser beam if I hear them screaming at each other one more time.

And I remember Yuki Wrath.

Warning noted.

You also remember that I don't like pulling it out, and I only do it when there is absolutely nothing else that I can do.

I'd switch them out if I could, but none of the singles players are doubles players, and our singles lineup is too strong to switch into doubles.

Thank you.

I remember quite well, Yukimura-kun.

True. I'm not sure about Shiraishi-kun, but you were never much of a doubles player and Echizen-kun even less. Or perhaps you could suggest to the coach to switch me with either Akazawa-kun or Wakato-kun.

The switching is an idea, but I don't want to risk it right now. You and Oishi have the beginnings of a really good doubles combination. If we're forced to throw D2, we throw D2 and make it up in singles. I don't want to risk having both doubles games thrown.

You have a point, but I think the Oishi-kun and Akazawa-kun will work out just as well in the long term. And I'm adaptable.

I'll keep it in mind, but I also want to see how it all works out. After all, we've just started.
