Adele - “Rolling in the Deep”
The first thing I thought after seeing this video was, “Damn… I need to see this woman live.” Seriously. She has such a powerful voice, and it would be so great to see her perform this in the flesh. I get already get goose bumps listening and watching this mv, so imagine the effects of the concert’s bass! Normally for me, the thought of going to someone’s concert only crosses my mind on the rare occasions when kpop stars come to America. This is the first time that I actually want to go to an American concert. Well since she’s British… An English-speaking person’s concert.

CPR instructor class
So there’s this high school couple in my cpr class, and I get really REALLY annoyed with them during my instructor training. I know there’re “together,” but can they not be constantly whispering, flirting, and glued to each other? Don’t they have any sense of professionalism or respect for their teacher and fellow classmates? Where are their “classroom etiquettes”? This is not a bitterneverbeendatingandjealous girl complaining. This is simply someone who understands that there is a right time and place for things. Blatantly exchanging lovey-dovey glances and smiles, subtly touching, giggling, and whispering in each other is not appropriate when our teacher is speaking or when we’re just watching a video. I don’t care if you do it in the closet during our breaks or if the lecture’s so boring and that you find your bf/gf more interesting to look at, but while you are in class, please respect everyone else by simply keeping your hands to yourself because god knows we are not deaf. We hear your giggles and your whiny voices. Please grow up and act like an adult.
Oh yea... they ALWAYS come back LATE after our lunch break. Teacher says instruction begins at 12:30 and they come back… 12:35/12:40. Maybe I shouldn’t be a butt about this, but in my opinion, in a professional atmosphere such as this, being late is not acceptable. Among equals such as friends, it’s “pardonable” to be a few minutes late because you’re close. For a person who is your instructor/mentor, I just think it’s wrong to keep them waiting. Moreover, the entire class is pushed back b/c we have to wait for them. If they have any respect for the class, they would automatically know to return to the classroom on time. Where do they go anyways? If you’re gonna go far for lunch, please plan it out better. I know this is not representative of all the high school students out there because I know there are ones who are more considerate and understanding, but I can’t help but roll my eyes and think “these high school kids…” It’s wrong of me, but I wish that they can better represent their high school peers.
But I’m kinda glad the training is gonna be done tomorrow because I don’t have to wake up so early to go to Oakland (I know the transportation system here is great, but no thanks…) and because I don’t have to deal with this immature couple anymore. However, I will miss my awesome instructor. She’s amazing, and I will strive to be an instructor like her. Hopefully I can co-teach a class with her one day.

Guys and Clothes
According to my brother, it’s really difficult to shop for guy clothes. Why?
1.) There are rarely sales.
2.) When there are sales, it’s never as good as sales in the women department. 25% off is considered “good” to them.
3.) Guy clothes are often more expensive. Same brand, similar style, one “guy cut” and one “girl cut.” Chances are the guy version will be more expensive.
4.) Less variety in male styles.
Men’s laziness when shopping may also have something to contribute to the difficulty of choosing “good” clothes too. I’m willing to browse through an entire mall to find the best deal for a certain style I’m looking for. I’m willing to compare and “debate” about the item to see if I really want it. It’s a tough decision when choosing b/c you have to take into account the price, material, how you look in it, the season, does anyone else have it, the chances you’ll get to wear it, etc etc. The thing that goes through my brother’s mind when choosing something: I like it. It’s 15% off. Let’s buy it. I intend to pass on my frugal ways to my brother, but in the shopping department… he’s not doing so well. Or maybe he’s just lazy. 0o Idk….

The achingly slow beats and the singers’ sensual/breathless voices really… make this song sound “painfully” sexy. When I hear it, the first image that comes to mind is of a playful woman teasing a man’s heart. She’s smiling. She’s flirting. She’s touching. She’s tempting. She’s seducing. She basically has him on the tip of her fingers. But in the end… She lightly brushes everything off. Sure the mv’s story has something to do with this image that I’m getting, but the sound of the song itself is also telling me this story. “Sensual” is just the best adjective I have for this song.
Also.. I have the urge to start a new lj now... Something about wanting to start over in rl/academic/cyber life. Will still keep this journal b/c well... the point is not to erase my past. I just want to write a better future. ^^
