There are some days when I have a great plan. And then the plan falls apart.
There's about nine big projects I'm working on. These nine projects have been pretty much the same because it feels like I can barely make any progress. This is how things have been going lately:
3/29 - Fanime's DSL modem is down. Drive to Fanime office. Power cycle it. It is fine.
3/30 - Fanime's DSL modem is down again. Drive to Fanime office. Power cycle it. It still doesn't work.
3/31 - Drive to Fanime office. Find the problem is "signal attenuation"; must install DSL filter on ADT alarm. No DSL filters in office. What the hell?
4/1 - Drive to Fanime office. DSL filters in hand. ADT alarm uses different type of connection for phones. Seriously. Fry's is closed.
4/2 - Drive to Sunnyvale Fry's. Connections not there. Drive to Radio Shack, not there. Drive to other Radio Shack, not there. Drive to Campbell Fry's not there. Drive to Palo Alto Fry's, not there. Drive to other other Radio Shack, not in stock anywhere in the area.
4/3 - Drive to secret electronic support store. Not there. Call ADT for ideas. Ideas involve looking up the RJ31X standard and learning how to rewire.
So, what should've been a simple fix is taking research and a toolbox. This is how the last seven days have been, project wise.
Ah well, at least outside of projects, life's been good, so let's end on a non-angsty note.
