I am in fact still alive.
As I mentioned before, my poor Saturn died in Baton Rouge and had to be scrapped. It was a 1996 Green Saturn SL, and I got it in 2002. I just couldn't justify to myself putting at least another $1000 in it and at least one more night (at a $100 a night) in Baton Rouge, even though my grandfather promised to foot the bill. I doubt the car was even worth $1000 before it broke.
But I didn't realize how much I would miss it. I know I complained about it alot, and it had numerous problems (most famously the two month two engine head ordeal back in 2005), but it was my car. I'm actually really depressed about it.
Right now I'm driving the purple van that used to be the family van. I don't trust it nearly as much as the Saturn (and that's saying something), and my dad will probably take it when he gets back from Kosovo. But on the bright side, I'll probably get to borrow one of my grandfather's vehicles. And maybe one of these days I'll be able to get a good job and get a new (used) car.
I'm currently housesitting/dogsitting for the preacher through the 31st. They've gone to the Holy Land, and the dog apparently hates going to a kennel, so I get to watch it. He's a nuerotic dog, but we get along fairly well, even if I don't know what he wants half the time. I actually sort of like him.
I'm also doing some temporary secretarial work for the church's praise band. I'm going through 220+ songs in the praise band library and getting 10 clean copies of each song. I had hoped to be finished by now, but I've been a bit lazy about it. I should finish Monday/Tuesday.
I will be doing something for the Holland campaign, though I doubt I'll get paid for it. I got a call from the head of the Tupelo office, and they apparently haven't even finished getting the office set up yet. I'm supposed to set up a meeting with her next week to discuss what my job will be. I'll probably be doing at least some office work since she was excited to hear I am available during business hours.
Well, that's life here. I hope everyone's doing well. I'm sure I'll be up to Oxford at some point.
