Lauren Zima at MSN Entertainment:
"Who you gonna call? Well, probably not Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis. Unfortunately, those classic comedians are a bit old to be busting ghosts with electricity. But rumour has it that the original ghostbusters will be teaming up with a new crop of comedians: Judd Apatow's crew (Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, etc.) to film a second Ghostbusters sequel." -
http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/movies/galleries/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=9118177 Anyone get the feeling that seeing crinkly ol' Harrison Ford in Indy 4 this year was a bit of a turn-off for Ms. Zima? Putting her casually-opinionated (and blatant) ageism to one side, any re-launch of the Ghostbusters franchise as a "Next Generation"-style vehicle for the rent-a-goon squad will be hard to disguise as anything but a piss-poor, studio-sanctioned compromise. The prospect of a third film has been raised before on Britannia's Creature, but this particular blogger's enthusiasm for the idea is now officially waning...

This section was going to be much "bitchier", but I've just been reminded of the concept of "joined-up" government, so I've dutifully removed the quotations from V for Vendetta, and supplemented the second half with a link to the Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee's website. *Rolls eyes.* Don't worry, though, no one stays in power forever. (Even if it may sometimes feel like that...)
Right, so here's the Information Commissioner's Office statement on Google's Streetview as a PDF:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/pressreleases/2008/google_streetview.pdf (Upshot: There's nothing to worry about, and even if there is, well you can always complain to Google. I'm sure they're awfully nice chaps, and will take down anything that gives you the colly-wobbles...)
Here's the link for Privacy International:
http://www.privacyinternational.org (Upshot: F*cking Hell, man! They're like...watching us! All the time! There's no escape! Help!)
And here's the TechCrunch view on it all:
http://uk.techcrunch.com/2008/07/31/google-street-view-goes-ahead-in-uk-thanks-again-privacy-international/ (Upshot: Oh, for goodness' sake...here we go again.)
Meanwhile...
The Internet is horrible for children, and some videogames are NASTY! Boo! So we're going to set up a quango later this year, that will make everything nice and fluffy as it jolly well SHOULD be. Because basically parents are ignorant sh*theads, and can't be trusted to have the smarts required to keep their Devilspawn little darlings THE HELL AWAY FROM THE 'NET AND COMPUTERS IN THE FIRST PLACE! Oh, and we'll probably make sure that the lovely Dr. Tanya Byron (who only writes sitcoms with Jennifer Saunders for sh*ts and giggles) will have a job for life.
You can read (or buy!) the report from the Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee here:
http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmcumeds.htm (They haven't really been the same since losing Gerald Kaufman as Chairman. It's all very sad...)
