I gave up reviewing albums professionally a long time ago. Stated reason at the time: I love music too much.
And that still applies, now perhaps more than ever.
However, I'll tell you this about Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree, with no hope or expectation of my words making a blind bit of difference, anywhere.
It's beautiful.
By no means derivative, this album is as startling as their first, Felt Mountain, but when the second track ("Little Bird") kicked in, I was transported back to the day I eagerly popped the (then) new Cocteau Twins offering, Blue Bell Knoll, into my tape player, and - Sennheiser headphones clamped to my bonce - lost myself for forty-something minutes.
"Caravan Girl" and "Eat Yourself" are two very different journeys in the best company, and "Monster Love" will be going onto my MP3 player in a few moments, because I just don't fancy travelling without it from now on.
In the meantime, here's the video for "A & E":

Techie Edit: I don't like iTunes, and this is fairly well known. It's got a clunky interface, does truly insidious things with data, and is as irritatingly full of itself as any Apple product.
However, I've just used it for...I think...the third time in my life.
And it showed me fractals.
Fractals.
Woo.
Welcome to the Dark Side...

Hillary should pull out of the campaign NOW.
If only to stop more people dying needlessly:
