I'm going to make a poster of this and put it up in my classroom.
http://www.jinx.com/women/shirts/geek/buffy_staked_edward_womens.html?cs=6&csd=1494#bigdesign Do you think my students will find it amusing or "so not funny!"?
I already had one girl annoyed that, while looking over her shoulder as she read the first novel, I said, "Edward....is that the one who dies in the last book?" The stare she gave me, it was like I killed her grandmother.
I quickly had to reassure her that I had NO idea what happens to Edward, only that I recognized his name from the countless conversations girls have about the book so I make a joking extreme guess. She calmed down, but it was still a bit shocking to her.
I guess the equivalent would've been saying "Hermione...she's the one Voldemort kills in the last book, right?" Even if it's not true, a fan's heart must leap into their throat or something.
This is the rantiest post ever. I've got two hours sans Cristina and already it's driving me crazy. I guess I'll just use this time to catch up on "Battlestar Galactica," since she's not ever going to watch it. All we do watch is "How I Met Your Mother," "The Office," "30 Rock," and DVD reruns of "The X-Files" (we're almost done with season 4! Five more to go....oh god. FIVE MORE TO GO?!)
When we finish The X-Files, only then will we begin the Buffy/Angel saga using proper episode chronological order.
And now the post has come full circle. Have a good Sunday everyone!
