I like the way that you compare Catalan to Quebec. That's a good analogy. Now, while I'm not really knowledgable about Spain, what about the Basques? Aren't they more analogous to the Quebecois, since it's the Basques who are actually pushing for autonomy or independence or something like that?

It's a small group of Basques who give the region a bad name.

Catalunya pretty much is completely free of Spain while being a part of Spain. ETA in the Pais Vasco wants the type of independence and power that Catalunya has. But Catalunya has all the money in Spain. So yeah, it's...hard to explain in a succinct comment.

I don't know of any Quebecois terrorist cell wanting more autonomy. Wikipedia ETA if you're curious.

Quebec did have terrorist cells committing violent acts on behalf of the independence cause in the late 1960s, up until 1970. The FLQ (Front de Liberation du Quebec, I think) was responsible for a whole slew of bombings, and in October 1970 (in what was known as the October Crisis), they kidnapped a British trade representative, and a minister in the Quebec government. The federal government responded by invoking the War Measures Act, and using draconian measures to clamp down on terrorism. The October Crisis was resolved within the month. That was pretty much the end of illegal measures to achieve separation. But legal political separatism took off in the 1970s.

Just curious, did you watch any of the videos? Haha. I should put a poll to figure out which one has produced the hottest boy...though hot doesn't necessarily mean good in bed.
