Be prepared for an incredibly large entry with pics to come!
I’ll start off with my actual Birthday which was last Tuesday. I have been covering the main women I work with shifts for this whole week coz she’s in Fiji. This meant getting up at 6am for a 7am start and working till 3pm. But I got lots of coffees and “Happy Birthday’s” from people at work so it was ok, better than being at home by myself.
Gift wise I got from my Sister: A freshwater pearl necklace, but a nice one with 3 strands and exposed wire bits, battery grip for my Canon 400D
And from my parents: 2 pairs of earrings, 2 necklaces ( I can open a jewellery store after all of these gifts!), HP and the deathly hallows, Speedlite flash for my camera, Plus they also paid for most of my 21st so hooray for them!
That night we went out for dinner at Taco Bills in Greensy and Sheridan shouted me a fishbowl frozen margarita the size of my head! The food was quite possibly the most unattractive food I have ever eaten but it tasted pretty nice!
Ok so moving on to my 21st party…
The day started out pretty well. I slept in, had some coffee, read some Harry Potter and lay out everything that I would need for that night. We picked up the balloons from Blokker and the cake from my work at about 3 and headed down to the Queensberry for the fun task of decorating. We only had an hour before we had to drive back home to get dressed and pick up le Cass. Strangely enough throughout the entire 21st planning/booking and actual day of the party I wasn’t really anxious or nervously worrying about everything, which I a good thing I guess.
So my Mum, Dad, Cassi and I arrived to find my Sister and her boyfriend Hamish already there. After a bit of last minute decorating and figuring out the music people started to arrive. 31 guests all up, which was just a good number for the area we had.
The only thing that gave me the shits the whole night was the party next to us in the front bar (Matt’s 18th) and their shitty doof doof music. Thankfully their DJ got better taste at the end of the night.
The cat fight started pretty early on in the night. That is the one between two actual cats in the outside courtyard part. We started out with a couple of bottles of bubbly and white wine - which somehow made it back home with us and we finished off last night. The bar tab was about $750 once the extra food trays we ordered during the night were taken off. I’m proud to say that we had reached our tab by 11:30pm! Ha ha ha, nice work guys!
So on the topic of drinks, here is what I can remember drinking: 2 glasses of champagne, 3 Midori illusions, 1 Sambuca and coke, 2 fruit tingles, half a French martini, 1 cowboy shot and 1 vodka shot followed by raspberry cordial stuff. I remember Cassi saying, when my Sister told me to come inside for a cowboy, “what there’s a stripper?” Lol.
I think Audrey; my 9 year old cousin’s drink toll was getting pretty up there too. Ha ha, thanks again Cory and Ben for encouraging underage drinking in my God Auntie’s daughter by giving her some fruit tingle and telling her it was just lemonade! But all up a nice mixture of colourful drinks and nobody spewed which is always good. I actually woke up the next day with a surprisingly clear head (although not quite clear enough to write this entry!).
When we ran out of alcohol we had to make our own fun…..naturally this meant inhaling all the helium we could get our hands on. I counted later on and apparently all up we ate 18 balloons worth of helium! GO US!
There were some “special” memories made such as me talking about lesbians only to feel the hand of my grandmother on my shoulder just afterwards meaning she possibly thinks I’m now gay. The creepy bogan from the Matt’s 18th trying to dance with me and invite us into the other party. The bar staff telling us blatant Midori lies, clearly we were drinking “imaginary” Midori if they ran out then.
I’d like to thank Cassi for speaching it up and also for the nice photo album filled with crazy shots of all of us (lots of which I had totally forgotten!) and the future Lionel Ritchi tickets, here’s hoping! Also big thanks to Ben and Cory for their iPod dock player thing and the strawberry shortcake card. Another thank you goes out to Belly, Sandra, and Amelia for coming and helping make my partay be lots of fun and a night that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
Oh the loot from my 21st Party was pretty good as well. I’m so freakin spoilt and I’m lovin like Maccas! I got the gifties mentioned above as well as 3 more pairs of earrings, a bracelet, another necklace, $50 gift voucher, handmade wooden box, chocolate, Kylie’s “Darling” perfume (which is totes my new fave perfume!) and $170 in cashola!
All in all it was as good as I could have hoped for, most people had a darn good time. Even my grandparents had a better time towards the end of the night, which was good coz I was kinda stressing about them. I would also like to say that I am so in love with that green dress I was wearing, was totally a bargain and a half and I got heaps of comments on how pretty it was. Awww shucks!
So yes, much fun and radness was had.
Yay!
In other news, i just applied for the coolest job in the known universe. Working as a photographer on a big American Cruise ship.....GLEE!
Will update on this further when i hear it.
