Judge End Thoughts And Impressions Thread

Oct 10, 2014 14:10

Okay, since no one else has done this yet...how did everyone feel about Judge End? I've had to catch up on things so I literally JUST finished it as of a few minutes ago. I'll put my thoughts under a cut for spoilers.

I'M SO CONFLICTED. )

I was facepalming whole last episode. They haven't followed neither historical nor game lines.
I happy that everyone is alive (read: Mouri), but that's kinda... strange...

They begin rather good, but after 4th episode the whole thing started to go rally strange direction.

I love to see all the guys, but the plot. What plot?!

I agree completely. I had the advantage of bingewatching the entire thing too so I really felt how terribly they paced things this season. Kanbe literally had like no reason for being there, nor did a few other characters. (I also find Tsurihime terribly annoying. -____- Like I would take some more of Matsunaga being creepy over her any day please! I rather enjoyed the tension he brought to the animes and he would have been an amazing troublemaker considering they basically threw out the script anyway!)

I think it was really strange everyone lived too. The only reason I'm OKAY with it and not like frothing at the mouth like "YOU F***ED UP CANON!" is because it wasn't a "neat" ending, like they're still at war and still fighting. I can't quite decide if they're aiming for a second season or not. It seems like Date's "ENDLESS PARTY!!" would sort of imply an open-ended but definitive close to the series, but I don't know. :/

I'll say that the same for me, I liked some part of it but others had me flinching more than anything. I'm huge Masa/Yuki fan and didn't even liked their interactions, because like you said, their rivalry was somewhat lacking or exaggerated. We did see more of the others characters who needed development too, and that a good thing. Nevertheless, Kasuga and Matsu presence seemed really forced to me, when most of the guys (Kojuuro) lost their sexiness... Masamune was so uncool, is engrish was so bad, not funny at all ( ... )

I can definitely understand why some people ship MasaYuki, it's just not my thing, but I'm glad to hear from a MasaYuki fan that I wasn't imagining how utterly lacking/forced/strange their interactions seemed this season. Like normally their rivalry is, to a KoMasa fan like me, a strained but warm one, where they really respect each other as equals and give their all against each other, but this season felt pretty "meh" in that respect. Although I love SasuYuki so seeing Sasuke get a much meatier role (he's still mostly a second banana but compared to the last two seasons?? Damn!) was pretty awesome, and I liked how protective Sasuke was of Yukimura. But in that respect also, I feel a lot of their interactions lacked the feeling of the game. The tense scene where Masamune is ready to behead a sobbing and crying Yukimura is reduced to a freaking strange encounter that makes little sense. Even though it was definitely a "KoMasa" moment, with him going "Bontenmaru!", it still rang shallow to me, even though they're basically my OTP ( ... )

"Well the fight sure were more epic but a lot shorter too and left less an impact I think." <---On this part I think I have to respectfully (of course!) disagree...or perhaps I should say I half agree and half disagree? Some battles were shorter, but I can't deny that they left more of an impact on me. Thinking back on episode one and seeing Mitsunari just brutally cutting down Masamune and Kojuurou surprised the hell out of me! The fact that they didn't shy away from showing a more brutal side to the battles definitely made them feel more real to me.

"For the music 4 (Only polaris made me feel like I was watching something Sengoku Basara related, seriously the main theme seemed like something out of a western.)" <----Okay honestly THANK YOU. The opening theme makes me want to scream. I hate it. Polaris, I adored, and the first time I got excited musically all season was the tense violin music going on in the background during the battle between Ieyasu and Mitsunari ( ... )

Some of the fight really were something, but overall...I think, maybe they fought to much just to clash sword ? What I really did remember was Mitsunari and Ieyasu fight, I didn't knew witch side to pick, I wanted them so much to make up, I wanted to slap some sense into Ieyasu, but I also wanted to scream at Mitsunari ( ... )

I was so excited to see this season when I read that it was going to be based on the game, and I thought that maybe they were going to follow the story of it, no matter what route it could have been. The first eps, did started that way, but later they change it and I was thinking that it didn't matter maybe it was going to be better but I guess it was okay, I am not saying that it was bad, I did like it but not much. I thought that they were going to fight against Nobunaga and that maybe it was going to be longer than just beating him in a while, I guess they didn't do that since the movie was about beating Nobunaga ( ... )

Ugh...I was really excited when they announced a S3, but then I saw it wasn't being made by the same studios that did the last two. Like most who are fans you could tell it was off, but what it was the Line work, and it wasn't based on Tooru Ookubo's Design (who did Chara design the last 2S+moive) or have BG music by Hiroyuki Sawano. Basicaily it wasn't the same without Production I.G

But beyond that Telecom Animation Film did give some good moments, the last two ep were cheesy, with Gyobu and Tadakatsu with the spheres leading them to the end. And I loved the calligraphy, and mainly just listening to Yukimura (CV:Hoshi Soichiro), Masamune (Nakai Kazuya), but I missed Masamune's yankee men yell "Hitooo" and "Ooh". Or have the emotion moment w/Yukimura and Oyakata-sama like in the SBR3 game. Though I do hope if they ever SBR: 4 I.G comes to do it again ( ... )
