Introduction and some pictures from Japan..

Hi! I'm new to this community, nice to meet you all.

I went to Japan a week and a half ago and since I wanted to do some sightseeing and was hoping to catch some Fall Foliage I decided to try and visit a few tourist sights associated with the real people from Sengoku Basara including Sendai and the Nagano area. I got to see Date's Mausoleum, the former site of Aoba-jo with its famous Date statue, Kawanakajima Battlefield and its statues of Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin, and I went to Sanada jinja and the ruins of Ueda-jo and got to see a statue of Sanada Yukimura.

I was terribly amused by the fact Sendai was using anime images of Date Masamune to sell everything from beer to various omiyage. But by far the most amusing things were some of the ema on display at Gokou jinja and Sanada jinja. (Ema are wooden tablets that can be purchased for usually 800 to 1000 yen at many shrines. You are supposed to write your wishes on them anonymously and then hang them up at the shrine so the shrine's god(s) can receive them.)

I must request, please do not use these images for LJ icons/etc. I doubt the anonymous Japanese fan-artists drawing these would appreciate it, but I thought everyone in the community would like to see them as much as I did.
