but anyway while rereading this heartbreaking scene, i realized something. the first time i read the scene where kyungsoo discovers jongin and sooyoung, i thought jongin was REALLY cheating on kyungsoo, especially when he murmured “sooyoung” and my heart broke. then when i reread it the second time- it occurred to me that there could be a different interpretation in that scene. i originally thought is was like a good murmur like you know?? a sigh of contentment or something BUT it could also be a reprimand? jongin was sleepy so it was just a murmur but IDK I WANNA BELIEVE JONGIN OK
besides, my heart was obviously going to Kyungsoo so I was swept away with his shattered heart. now i’m just dumbfounded because WOW BHE WOW idk which to believe hahaha
so. as i was internally sobbing and feeling like my heart was being digested along with the food i ate, i actually reveled in the angst ahahaha because it felt real? i mean there was a real reason why kyungsoo’s hurting and it was also something i really find despicable so i hurt with him ahahaha sobs does that make sense? and just. ;-; the scene where he cried in front of a patient’s mother T____T he couldn’t hold it in :(((((((((
then the confrontation between sooyoung and kyungsoo omg IT HAD TO HAPPEN and the “Oh, so you’re on first name basis now?” HURT ME AGAIN slkjds;lkfjd
and then
“you were tired… you were tired and i wasn’t there.” P*TA KYUNGSOO HINDI YAN RASON P&TANGINA MO
“that’s not it.” YES JONGIN YES

i really like the long drawn out road to redemption in spite of the short fic (6k is pretty short for a full infidelity+redemption thing right)
everything about it was just slow. and it felt right and not at the same time to me? i mean jongin is clearly trying so hard but kyungsoo was seriously hurt. of course, it’s not that easy to fix a broken relationship-the fact that kyungsoo agreed to go back to their apartment was a big step already so jongin shouldn’t expect much
the scene where he turned his cheek away was so!!!!! LOV!!!!!!!!! u go ksoo babe don’t give in
jongin being so boyfriend is lov and hate at the same time because it makes him look guilty and i just really find those annoying but then idk it’s jongin how can i resist how can kyungsoo resist
“we’re getting there” HE SAYS HUHUHUH
but oh, bhe. i was confused in the part when jongin picked ksoo up and he said “i’m here to pick up my husband” bc i thought they’re boyfriends?? so
anyway going back
my favorite part of the !road to redemption! is the scene where kyungsoo ends up eavesdropping on jongin and sooyoung’s conversation bc THIS was the closure i was trying to find
BUT WHY WERE THEY INSIDE JONGIN’S PRIVATE BATHROOM?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?
