(no subject)
i can't believe its been over a month since i've updated. it certainly doesn't feel that long. its not that i'm on the internet any less, i guess i don't feel the need to make myself known. its weird because the internet used to be my bread and butter and now its not so much. i have a ton of photos to scan and tons of photos just sitting in my digital camera that hasn't been uploaded onto the computer yet. i want to do this, its just that work and having two pets, an apartment to maintain and a husband to spend time with pretty much is all of my time. and its a great way to spend my time for sure, it just makes me want to lurk rather than participate.
devin recently bought me my own pair of binoculars and we have created a lovely ritual of setting out on our bikes at 6 am to go birding and then having a leisurely brunch somewhere. we usually bike up to montrose harbor and make our rounds and then after brunch we go to north park nature center or labaugh woods. today we saw a lark sparrow, a clay colored sparrow, many yellow rumped warblers, palm warblers, ruby crowned kinglets, hermit thrushes, thrashers, wrens, bluejays, cat birds, laughing gulls, cardinals and a rose breasted grosbeak which was pretty special. it didn't seem like a lot at the time but typing it all out now it seems like a pretty good amount. we also saw of course about a million red winged blackbirds, grackles etc. i can't wait to see a kingfisher!
