One Of Those Lazy Days

Feb 22, 2006 19:11

So... today was my day to catch up on sleep. I have to have one every week and a half or so, since my sleep patterns are so terrible, besides which I was extra tired because of the overnight thing Monday/yesterday. I feel much better now, but I still have a bit of a headache-- I've had it for about four days now, so any time it feels like buggering off would be good. :P

In and around my resting, I did some tidying up, and watched DOOM again. I'm hugely amused by that movie, despite how bad it is. >^-^;; Heh...

And right now, Phantom is out and hopping around the place-- and JUST TORE A HUGE HUNK OF WOOD OUT OF MY ALREADY CRAPTACULAR FLOOR. Bad, bad bunny! Not that it surprises me. She seems to like nibbling on the floorboards, for some reason... ^^; Oh well... at least my floor is already crappy, so a few more cracks or nibbled pieces won't make a big difference...

What else? Oh, I got two packages in the mail today. One had two ponies in it (Royal Rose and Silver Glow pegs from the 2006 line), and the other had a couple of marionettes that I bought on a whim about two months ago. I was starting to think they'd never get here. They're little and cute (one's a unicorn and one's a pegasus), and I just hung them from the ceiling. Really, I mean, what use do I have for marionettes? I'm such a packrat.

Also included in the pony package was something I got from the same people, which is for elsewherecw for Christmas next year. ^_^;; Ahaha... yeah, I do Christmas shopping all year around. Mostly because I can't afford to spend all the money at the same time in December, so I parcel it out all year...

Anyway. That's about it. Except here's a random scene for cassandracsenta: I know a while ago we decided not to, but I was reading through one of the AU Hide and Nazoko forums earlier and totally couldn't help myself:

-----

How long had it been, since she had joined the Silver pack, and moved into the family house? Only a few months-- just over four-and-a-half, she thought, when she worked out the dates. Since then her life had changed drastically in more than one way, though she didn't regret anything that had happened. In truth, her recent choices seemed to have made her sister happier as well...

It had taken less than a month after everything had happened before Nozomi herself quit Hunting. She had, predictably, found a new understanding of Immortals once Nazoko became one-- although she continued to be somewhat uncomfortable around them in situations which would have, in the past, had her considered "hopelessly outnumbered."

Now, she spent her days fawning over Kin Akari at the computer shop he ran, and was aparently on the lookout for a new job-- one that didn't require excessive violence, if at all possible. The one thing she did say was that she missed Orion, and yes, Nazoko missed him as well, but it was generally agreed that it had been a good thing, sending him to take care of Ayame.

He'll watch out for her until she figures things out, the same as we did...

Currently, Nazoko was seated on the bed she shared with Hide, staring at her reflection in the mirror on the back of the door in front of her. She was mulling various things over, but most of what she was thinking about involved the blue positive result on the thin white stick that was sitting in the bathroom, and various ways to broach the subject with Hide when he got back from his meeting with Satsu.

True, they had discussed the possibility of her becoming pregnant-- briefly, yes-- a few months ago, when she had first joined the Family. But despite that, she found it almost hard to believe, and didn't think it would be particularly easy for her to tell him that it was true.

For all she knew, he didn't want children at all... though she happened to know for a fact that his father would be more than ecstatic about it. He'd been not-so-subtly hinting about grandchildren since the day she had met him. Seiya's voice sing-songed in the back of her mind for a moment, making her sweatdrop slightly, despite the fact that she was the only one in the room.

Now that she thought about it, though, her sister would probably squeal about it, too...

She shifted slightly, clearing her thoat absently, and clasped her hands in her lap. "Hide, I have something to tell you." Orange eyes stared back at her from the mirror as she attempted to find the right words; "Hide, how do you feel about children?" Another pause. "Hide, I think we're going to need a bigger suite..."

Nothing sounded right. For a moment she considered just leaving the pregnancy test where it was, and letting him discover it on his own.

That's stupid, Nazoko...

How hard could it be to tell her Mate that they were expecting? Honestly...

So focused was she on her own reflection and her innermost thoughts that she actually jumped slightly when the door clicked and swung inward. Blinking slowly, she found herself tensing. Her heart, which had leapt into her throat at the startlement of the door opening, seemed to refuse to return to it's normal place in her chest.

"Uh... hey." She must have looked like a deer in the headlights. Hide stared at her somewhat blankly from the entrace, one hand on the doorknob still. "Are you okay?"

It took her a moment to answer.

"Nazoko?"

"Yes... I'm-- I'm fine..."

Concern in his tone. "Are you sure?"

"Aa..." she swallowed slightly, then smiled to him reassuringly. "Come in, Hide, I have something I need to talk to you about."
