So yesterday I had an appointment out of town with Mom, and on the way back I wanted to stop at Walmart to see if they had the newest Reba McEntire CD I wanted...
And they were having a freaking huge media blowout sale.
Rock-bottom DVD and VHS and CD prices!! XD *drools*
I could've bought so much...
But I managed to limit myself to $50, which got me:
~"X-Men" (movie, VHS)
~"Red Planet" (movie, VHS)
~"The Animatrix" (short films, VHS)
~"The Magestic" (movie, DVD)
~"Hocus Pocus" (movie, DVD)
~"Sounds of Nature" (relaxation CD, 2 disc set)
~"Rainstorms" (relaxation CD, 2 disc set)
~Reba McEntire's "Room To Breathe" (CD)
and
~Toby Keith's "How Do You Like Me Now?!" (CD)
DUDE! SCORE! *so very happy*
I'm really considering going back tomorrow and buying a couple of other movies/CDs that I saw but didn't actually pick up. ^^;;;
Hi. My name is Sena and I'm a media addict... *puts on pin and hat that say MAA on them*
.....
AND! Another scene that (I believe I recall)
cassandracsenta-san looking forward to. ^^;; Watch Josei give Hikaru her special brand of "advice".
"You look wonderful, Hikaru-san."
"Yeah, he's passable, I guess. You clean up pretty good."
"Maa ne, Josei-san..."
"Take a good look, 'cause I'll never be dressed up like this again."
"Sou desu ka."
"Tch. I'm sure if Taiga-chan asked you to, you wouldn't hesitate to dress this way for her."
"Oh... shut up."
"Yare, yare."
"I mean it."
"Whatever. Got the ring?"
"It's--right--in my pocket... oh my GOd! OH MY GOD!"
"Check your other pocket, Hikaru."
"...oh."
"Is your brain malfunctioning today or something?"
"Josei-san, Hikaru-san is just nervous..."
"Understatement of the year there, Amai."
"...is it hot in here?"
"Not particularly."
"It's hot in here."
"Hikaru, come on..."
"Seriously, Josei... it's hot. And.. and I think I'm feeling sick..."
"Hikaru-san? Daijoubu desu ka?"
"...might be coming down with something..."
"Like what, Hikaru-baka?"
"Urusei, Josei! Don't be that way! I'm really feeling ill, here!"
"Jitters, Hikaru. Just jitters."
"...naaaaaaaaa..."
Aquamarine eyes focused on the mirror in front of him, and hands that trembled ever-so-slightly tugged nervously at the collar of his shirt, then smoothed down the front of his jacket before returning to hang at his sides. Behind him, Josei and Amai, his best friends for nearly a century, were looking both amused and pleased.
"Na Hikaru," Josei raised one violet eyebrow. "Are you okay? You're looking a little pale."
"I think I'm going to pass out."
Amai's expression shifted to concern. "Perhaps you should sit down for a minute?"
He was playing with the knot in his tie, wrinkling it in his discomfort, and the normally shy brunette reached over to swat his hands away and straighten the accessory once more. Blue-green eyes flicked toward her for a second--and then she took hold of his arm and steered him toward a nearby chair, which sat next to a four-person table.
"Sit, Hikaru-san."
"Sou..."
Dropping into the chair gracelessly, he slumped forward until his forehead touched the tabletop and then raised his arms to clasp his fingers together at the base of his neck, his bent arms effectively hiding his face behind the dark material of his jacket.
He groaned, voice muffled.
"What the hell am I doing..?"
"Hyperventilating." Josei supplied less than helpfully.
"Gaaaaaahh..."
There was a long pause and silence.
Hikaru continued to lean over the table, and it was obvious that more than just his hands were trembling. Amai was rubbing his shoulder comfortingly, still looking worried, and a few steps away, Josei was watching, torn between amusement at his sudden wedding jitters and concern, as he was looking more than a bit ill.
A creak and a knock at the same time.
Dark purple eyes flicked toward the door, and she grinned when a familiar head poked into the room.
"It's almost tiiiii~me!" Seiya practically sang--and then stopped and blinked. "Eto... is Hikaru dead or something?"
"Not yet..." he still sounded a little sick to his stomach, but at least he managed to respond.
"GOOD!" Enthusiasm once more, and the elder Starlight stuck one finger into the air as if to make a point, though the following threat was somewhat muted by the cheerful wink he included with it; "'cause if you keep Taiga-chan waiting too long, I'll have to hunt you down and personally kick your butt!"
"Naaaaaa... Seiya-san..."
"Not helping, Seiya-san." Josei waved him away, "go back and bug Taiga-chan again."
"Maaaaa ne... fine. You're no fun, Josei-chan." Heaving a sigh, Seiya shook his head and then vanished once more, the door shutting behind him with a click.
Josei's attention returned to Hikaru once more.
"Anou... Hikaru-san?" Amai patted his shoulder gently, "daijoubu ne?"
His hands clenched tighter against his neck and he shook his head against the cold hardwood of the table. "I don't know if I can do this..."
"Excuse me?"
Amai looked up toward Josei at the other girl's exclamation.
"You're kidding, right? Jeez, Hikaru! Taiga-chan's about to head down that aisle, and you're supposed to be waiting for her at the other end! You can't do this? So what--you're gonna' just leave her standing there?"
Anxious aqua eyes peered out over his arms. "That's not what I mean and you know it."
"Well?" She demanded.
"Joseiiiiiii~" he whined, and covered his face again, childishly, "who's idea was this, anyway?"
"Yours."
"...oh yeah... I still don't know if I can do this." Voice still muffled, he whispered, sounding a bit sad. "I mean... I mean... Taiga-chan... who am I kidding? I'm not even close to good enough for her and... and what if she doesn't like me... and what if she decides she doesn't want me anymore... and what if I'm not what she expected... and..."
Heaving a tolerant but put-upon sigh, Josei did the only thing she could think of.
She hauled off and kicked him in the shin.
"ITAI!!" Aqua hair flew as he jerked upright, glaring at her, and half-scrambled out of the chair, making Amai jump back in surprise. "DAMN IT, JOSEI! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?"
"Would you prefer it if I kicked you in the head?" She inquired dryly, "because your brain needs a serious readjustment right about now."
"WHAT?"
She eyed him. "You're just nervous Hikaru. I mean, do you even know what you're saying? 'What if she doesn't like me', 'what if she decides she doesn't want me anymore', 'what if I'm not what she expected'? Dolt!" A snort, and she glared right back at him. "You and Taiga-chan have been together practically forever already! If she was going to decide she didn't like you, or didn't want you, she would have done it ages ago!"
His glare became an uncomfortable frown. Beside him, Amai was sweatdropping but looked reluctant to break into their rather heated--ahem--"discussion".
"And what the hell do you think she expects? I mean, good mother Singer, Hikaru! She knows you better than anyone! She just wants you to be yourself--stupid, idiotic, rediculous and embarrassing as that may be at times."
"Josei-san--"
"So just quit whining already." Josei finished with a sniff, "she loves you a lot, for some reason I just can't ascertain, and it's obvious you love her, too. And I am most certainly not going to let you pine away up here while she waits down at the alter. So get your ass out that door before I kick you again!"
Silence.
Hikaru was staring at her rather blankly.
The violet-haired Light sighed. "Okay, look... I just want you to be happy, okay? And we've been through all this before. It's just jitters Hikaru. Go down there, ne? When you see her, it'll all go away, and you'll know why you're doing this again."
Another pause, then; "...sou..."
He heaved a sigh of his own, shaking his head and looking more than a bit chagrined.
"Maa ne... why am I always such an idiot?"
"It's in your nature. Always has been."
"It's part of what makes you you, Hikaru-san..."
"...and, sadly, part of what Taiga-chan adores about you."
A giggle. "Maa, Josei-san."
"Well it's true."
Hikaru couldn't help smiling, and shook his head again. "What would I ever do without you guys?"
"Are you kidding?" Josei grinned, and opened the door, making a gesture toward the hallway, "you'd fall apart at the seams. You'd lose your own head if it wasn't so firmly attached... but! Now it'll be Taiga-chan's job to take care of you, so I hope she knows what she's getting into."
"Must you ruin every nice moment between us?"
"She doesn't mean to, Hikaru-san..."
"Sou ka, I know." A wince when Josei smacked him lightly on the way past and then followed him out into the corridor, with Amai trailing pleasantly after them. "Guess I shouldn't keep everyone waiting, should I?"
"No. No you shouldn't."
"I fear Seiya-san would harm you if you did, Hikaru-san."
"That is far too true, Amai... far too true..."
I fear what Seiya would do to him if he kept Taiga waiting. Really I do. ^_^;;
*looking forward to Cassandra-san's Seiya-Taiga-pre-wedding-pep-talk scene*
And now I want to write something with Nazoko and Hide, but I can't think of anything good.
Hmm...
