Well, this one was a b*tch to write, as Ren just did not want to cooperate. =_=;; It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, but I'm still semi-pleased with it...
Yuki: *blushing*
Happy, though?
Yuki: *nods* Hai...
He was asleep, and she was supposed to be as well.
Instead, magenta eyes watched him silently.
Ren-kun...
It was supposed to be tonight. She had decided. She was going to tell him. Whether he felt the same way or not, she was going to tell him. But then... seeing him had made her stomach twist into knots, and the words just wouldn't come. And now it was too late. Another day was through, another night half-gone, and another opportunity was wasted on her part...
What was it that she was so worried about?
Rejection? The idea that he didn't love her?
Or was it the uncertain territory that they would be in if he did?
He was still asleep, his hair ruffled against the pillow, his arms around her, holding her close to him, his heart beating rythmically. Sighing, Yuki shuffled forward a bit, her fingers tugging absently at the cloth of his shirt, to brush her lips against his in the ghost of a kiss, a wistfullness present in her eyes as she did so.
Words, whispered quietly. So quietly, in face, that she herself could barely hear them; "I love you, Ren-kun."
And then she shifted back again, slipping out of his arms. Much as she adored being with him, she felt the need to be alone. Carefully, so she wouldn't disturb him, she moved herself away from him and sat up slowly--
"Where do you think you're going?"
Even as her mind registered the words, something caught the back of her own shirt, before her feet could touch the floor, and she was pulled back down suddenly, landing with a muffled eep, and at the same time, a familiar shadow was rising behind her. Before she knew it, she was on her back, and Ren was staring down at her, not the least bit alseep, his arms on either side of her and his expression serious.
A shocked gasp. "Ren-kun!"
He was holding her down with his own weight, purple eyes intense as always but otherwise unreadable as he surveyed her face.
"You said you loved me." He murmured finally, the tone to his voice guarded. "Is it true?"
He--he was supposed to have been asleep--
"Is it?"
Yuki couldn't help the flush of red that flared in her cheeks, and turned her head, since she didn't have any other way of avoiding his gaze. "Ren-kun--"
"Yuki. Tell me... is it true?"
Brows furrowed, face still red, Yuki forced herself to look back toward him and nodded mutely.
Silence.
The ticking of the clock on his nightstand.
"Yuki..."
And then he was leaning down, closing the distance between them, and his lips were brushing against hers and then--God, he was kissing her--actually kissing her--with the kind of force and yearning that she had only ever dreamed about. The few times he had kissed her before had been light, tentative, and fast, and every time she was left wondering if it had actually happened at all--
She had never been kissed like this before.
"Ren-kun--" her lips moved against his when he moved back for a moment. Magenta eyes were wide, shocked--"w-what--"
He kissed her again, one hand moving to cradle her cheek, still holding her down against the bed--not that she was likely to move very far, even if he hadn't been--and when he broke away for the second time, there was something in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat.
"Do I have to say it?"
His expression was neutral again, but his voice wasn't. A strained sense of discomfort made it waver a bit.
Yuki swallowed.
Say... it...
When she didn't respond, he looked down, jaw clenching slightly, and took a deep breath.
"Yuki, I--"
She cut him off, pushing herself up onto her elbows and pressing her lips to his for a third time.
When he moved back, surprised, she followed, hugging him, tangling her fingers in his shirt once more, and closed her eyes as she hid her face against his shoulder. Blood still burned in her cheeks, but--"you don't have to." She told him quietly. "I don't need to hear it... words are just words..."
He didn't answer right away, but his arms moved and his hold on her was tighter than it had ever been.
"Ureshii na, Ren-kun..."
"Aa," his words were soft. "Ureshii."
Short but kawaii, ne? ^^ *waves to Ren* Now you can go!
Ah... don't ask me what happened after that. I don't know. I figured I should back off and mind my own business, since they'd need some space.
Yuki: Sena-sama! Y-yamete...
Hopefully Ren won't try to hunt me down and scalp me or anything...
Omedetou!
