ARGH....ANGST.
Well, today was interesting. I got to hang out with my friend Tim (the one in previous posts on here), who I haven't seen in almost two years. He, his brother, and I went to Tijuana Flats for lunch and just talked. I asked him about school and whatnot, and he's doing well. His brother is in band, and plays the trumpet. He told me that he had made second chair for eighth grade, and had made Jazz and Symphonic band. Despite not having seen either of them in so long, I was proud of him. He has always been a smart kid. I went over to their house and got to see their mom. I really miss seeing her; she's always been so nice to me. I got to see all the critters; two redtail boas, a baby savannah monitor, and a Florida kingsnake. That is one of the things I miss most, hanging out on his back porch just talking about nothing in particular. Life has changed so much inthe past two years. I think hanging out with them brought up a lot of memories and emotions that haven't been present in a long time. Tim was the first guy I ever had feelings that went beyond friendship for (and we all know how that went). I think there will always be a glimmer of that, no matter how much I try to ignore it. Unrequited love is a bitch, kids. Beware of it's snare. It also made me realize that I have put off leaving Melbourne long enough. I kind of feel like a failure at this point because I haven't been able to leave. There are many factors holding me back, including the standard fear of something new. But my desire to leave is far greater than my jitters. It's time to jump in head first and get my freakin' degree finished. I'm debating between UF and USF. I would prefer UF, but I don't know if I can get in. USF would be far easier to get into, and it is right next to Busch Gardens. Who knows, as long as I can get out of Melbourne, I should be okay. Meh, I just think seeing someone who has already started on the path I want to get on made me truly want to leave.
