On Thursday, I had my last class of the semester. Which consisted of a 1 hour lecture (this is a 3 hour class) and then a party. With Mimosas. Which started before 11 AM. It was a nice little party.
It feels so good to be done. I'm also now done with Techiya for the semester. The concert was tonight, and it went really well. The Menschen opened and were awesome, we had an almost full house, and our songs actually sounded good. Unfortunately, I had to give up my harmony in Jerusalem, because I needed to sing the melody with BR. It resulted in me singing the duet the entire time as opposed to just chorus 2, verse 2, chorus 3, and the ending, but took out some of the interestingness of the song. But better that we stayed in key, which may not have happened had I not been in unison with BR. Hopefully next semester we'll actually be able to do what was written.
And I kinda had a posse. At least, that's what JS called it. There were my parents, grandma, and 4 people from my parents' shul there. (And I had other friends who came independently of them. They weren't part of the posse. I think I was responsible for 12 people being there total, including the posse.) I had sorta forgotten about the people from my parents' shul coming; they were there because next semester they're having an afternoon of a cappella and they wanted to hear us sing. Apparently they loved us (and the Romeo and Jew-liette skit, which they might want us to perform. I don't know that Techiya has ever done shtick outside of our fall and spring concerts, but I suppose we could do it since we'd have enough advanced warning.) And my friend from library school and her fiance really enjoyed the concert, and said that I was a very good singer, and told me to tell them when our next concert was. I has fans!
Of course, now I have to find a summer job. And buy clothes that fit. (JS and I are hitting the mall on Tuesday evening.) And talk to the financial aid people at Simmons. And catch up on all the sleep that I missed for tech week.
