I didn't see much point in posting this elsewhere since there are more LotR fans here (unless you've all gone sour on the fandom in my absence). Besides, I get to use a Sam icon. When I look at him, I feel grateful - for the films and for the casting of Sean in the role. It could so easily have been someone like Martin Freeman and what a disaster that would have been. Heh.
I'll post a link rather than embedding because the audio and video are way out of synch and although the uploader has promised to fix it he may not. Anyway, if you're interested, here is the video of Sean's panel at ECCC. It's possible that someone else has uploaded a better version but this is the one I found and it will do. I've downloaded it in case it disappears from YouTube because it merits listening to more than once. He's articulate, engaged, relaxed (Sean isn't always any of those things). I like to be able to hear the whole of what someone has said, in context, rather than having to rely on inaccurate hearsay.
