Last weekend I noticed my nails were getting long. This normally leads me to bite them to an appropriate length and move on. But this time I decided to start growing them out.
Normally, this leads to disaster. I have, what one might call, the worst eating habits ever. I probably have a deficeincy in every known and unknown vitamin and mineral. There are days where I have only Mt. Dew for substinance. So my nails are normally very thin and prone to breakage. I think I cared for a week back in highschool, but just moved on.
But, for the past couple of years I have also been taking antacids every night. I didn't notice much change in my nails due to the calcium they use to neutralize the acids in my stomache. But this weekend I figured I'd give longer nails a try, and only one nail has so far failed to stay long. My nails no longer kinda bend when I put pressure on them, and are actually staying rather strong.
My right pointer finger so far has the longest nail, which leads to some problems. One of which is typing. I type with a modified hunt-and-peck method. I primarily use my pointer fingers, especially with my right hand. It's odd beacsue I'll use my middle finger on my left hand, but not my right hand. Heck, I even use my left ring finger for the shift key... but I don't ever use the right shift key. And one thing that is kinda hard to do is type with long fingernails when you're not used to it. You have to use a different part of the finger, and it's weird. I'm just getting used to it, and might stick it out. But beyond doing it for the sake of doing it , I can't think of a good reason to inconveniece myself too much.
I painted them a kinda teal-blue, too. It's already half chipped off, but it's shiny.
