This was pretty typical Darren Shan fare, except for the fact that 6 years have passed since book 3. It's sad, in a way, because Darren hasn't aged, but his former best friend is an adult now. Still - a good book in which the society of the vampires is explained much more clearly.

I don't get it. I honestly don't. How do people not LOVE this book? How can people possibly be saying that it isn't as good as the rest of the series? It was honestly a perfect ending. I can't think of a single thing about it that I would change. Yes, the tone is a little different from the previous books, what with the marriage and crazy vampire pregnancy and whatnot. But there's nothing wrong with that. It was great having part of the book told from Jacob's point of view, and wonderful seeing the whole family together happily at the end. I really enjoyed seeing Bella's vampire transformation and the appearance of her power. Charlie had some great parts in the book too. I could go on and on forever about all the parts of the book that I loved, but there's no reason to really. Like I said, perfect.
