Post-Pirates Ponderings
Okay, I don't care what ya'll say: I loved it! I adored it! The first movie is still the best, of course, but this ending (?) to the series was fantastic. I laughed, I cried, I wished I had a monkey.
Trailers we saw that I'm dying to see the movie: Transformers!!!!....! Golden Compass looks like it will be sweet, Ocean's 13 seems to have excitingly revitalized the series (I really hope). I'm probably missing some other ones that looked good, but thus is the way with trailers.
I couldn't believe how sad the ending was. Everyone knows what a romantic I am, and the fact that Will and Elizabeth could only see each other once every ten years just about broke my heart. I thought that Jack had some genius lines in it (Four of you have tried to kill me, one of you succeeded.) and I was totally overjoyed to see one of those two goofy soldiers trying to take a hand-cannon with him when he was fleeing Davy Jones' ship. I also loved the whole story between Jones and Calypso, not to mention the way Elizabeth was actually important, and not just important by proxy through Will. Bringing my comments full circle, I was so happy to see Jack give up his immortality for Will, as sad as it was, because I always knew that they were really friends.
