I am now a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps.
This is some of the most glorious news I have heard in a while. It's not official until I go to Boot Camp, of course, but just knowing it's there waiting for me is awesome. I mean, it really let's me see that I have done a good job in the Delayed Entry Program. Finally, that hard work has paid off.
But THAT...the promotion, is great. Even better is that six months after Boot Camp, everyone who was in it gets promoted to P.F.C. Not me, though. Six months after Boot Camp graduation I will be promoted to Lance Corporal. That's about a year away! Only one year until I have a leadership position in the U.S. Military. The U.S. Marines. Wow!
I'm giddy. Giddy like a school girl with a crush! Anxiousness flows through me! WOOT WOOT! I want to run around and tell the world.
I make a big deal out of this, I know. But with good reason, yes? I think so.
