I didn’t make it to Figure Drawing yesterday as I was inside all day working on my comic, then going to my crappy job. To hold you over, I’ll quickly announce that next week I’m starting a fundraiser, more details will follow tomorrow and over the weekend.
I’ll also take this opportunity to finish my Charles Burns post!
Charles burns visited CCS last week and provided us with an inking demo on Friday morning. He multi-tasked like a real pro, answering our barrage of questions while working on inking pencils provided by Steve Bissette.
Just being able to watch him work was an amazing opportunity, I leared a ton about my own inking just from seeing how he held his brush, seriously. I really do need to invest in a new, really well crafted brush, as the only way I can achieve the lines I’m looking for is with something close to what Charles was using. (He uses a Winsor Newton series 7 #2 brush, in case you were wondering.)
