Wurd up cuh!
How goes thy honor?
I finally finished that portrait for Mr. Stiles, and he gave it to his wife for Mother's Day... I hope she liked it... he said she did, so yeah. I did sort of an art barter with him, where he gave me a pottery set of three mugs and a bowl (a beautiful bowl!!) to pay for part of the portrait, which I gave to my mom for Mother's Day because I knew she wanted some Stiles pottery. :)
AP Project presentations have begun, and, to my own surprise, I had my project and all of its components completed and turned in on time! I mean, I wasn't going to let myself turn it in late, but I thought I would be rushed and not do a great job, but I actually feel pretty good about it. I'm excited, as long as I can speak up and look up enough. I present on the 29th. The presentations have been very good, though, for the most part. Muy interesante. Except for one that made those who didn't believe in evolution sound like a bunch of ignorant idiots (namely us Christians) - I almost got mad as a hornet, as I often do, but I let it pass. I just want people to know that those who do not believe Darwin's theory are NOT necessarily ignorant of science and scientific fact - in fact, the more you delve into the science (biology, geology, chemistry, etc) of this world and our kind, you will see that the theory of evolution is NOT more credible than creation - in fact, scientific fact supports creation moreso than it does evolution! And I've been a science nut since I was a child. So... anyway, I'll get off my soapbox, but one can be well-versed and deeply understanding of science and still refute the theory of evolution - we aren't ignorant of the facts.
Anyway, my essential question is "Is there a link between creative ability and mental illness?" And I came to find out that, statistically speaking, there is. I mean, not typically for full-blown mental illness, but for traits of and tendecies to mental illness. Which kind of worries me.................
Saturday we drove up to Louisburg to see my little niece Eden's first ballet recital!! It as excellent, the whole thing - there were all different age groups and the acoustics in that community college were great. And we got the binoculars out on Eden's number, "Little White Duck", so we could see her face... she was with about five other little girls in her pre-ballet class, with adorable pink outfits with tutus, and she did such a good job!!! It was adorable! Precious! It was so sweet... my sister cried, heehee. Eden was at the end of the line when they danced off stage, so she waved to the audience, haha! So cute. We only got to stay long enough to take some pictures and say hello to everyone before we were back on the road again... I was sad we didn't get to stay with them longer. It's been forever since we've gotten to spend any sort of substantial time with them. I just sort of felt like a passing stranger.. but we'll get to see them again soon. But it was such a nice thing to go see, and it meant a lot to Michele, so I'm glad we went!! I'll stick a picture up here when I get a chance. I admire my sister a whole bunch.... I want to be as good a mom as she is, and she's so resourceful, motivated, and productive!! I wish I wasn't so much younger than her, so we could be closer... I wish, I wish - I need to stop making wishes!!
JR and Edrianne both got their jobs back! (in New Jersey.) So, that was a blessing - at first, JR's employer wasn't going to hire him back, which was shocking because they absolutely love him, but they decided to make an exception for him and so he got the job back... whew... and they may even help them find a place to live. I can't help but feel sad, though, that they're not in NC now... but I hope they can move down here again soon... I'm just glad for them that they've got some support systems in different places, and that things are working out... at least they had something to fall back on! So now they're a bit cheered up from the former disappointment.
Friday night I went to cruiser and had such a fun time! Me and Kristin cut up 'til almost everyone had left. I laughed til my face hurt - that's always a good thing. We've decided that we must go to Mary Jo's and make elbow pads so she'll be allowed to play Sexy Elbows again!! That game is the stuff. Ahh, great memories and best friends, what more could you ask for? Hopefully we'll get to do a lot of fun things this summer. :D
That's all for now... stay tuned for the next installment!!
