F'ing snowing today. Was it really nearly 70 degrees outside yesterday. Just thinking about that is depressing and makes me want to eat. Not that I really need an excuse. As usual I have been stuffing face all weekend. Just look at all the tasty treats ingested.

Food of choice lately has been Sichuan and Thai. Both spicy cuisines yet distincly different. Thai is a more tropical cuisine, heavy in citrus juices, coconut milk. Had some of this stuff Friday night and then the same for leftovers Saturday afternoon.

Saturday night, I tried to be good so ended up merely having an Apple Dumpling. :p That huge mound of sugary delight would be the fattening culprit pictured at the top right.

Sunday we had Sichuan Dim Sum(brunch) at Peking Village. All the food was damn tasty and so incredibly fattening. :( I have to say thought. This is one of my favorite places to have brunch. Food is tasty, service is quick and prices are damn good.

The salt and pepper fried chicken wings are my favorite dish at Peking Village. The spicy pepper and scallions and the salt coating the juicy fried chicken wings give the dish a nicely complex taste.
This chicken dish is very typical of Sichuan cuisine. Heavy in chili oil, garlic and some peppercorn. Strangely though, Peking Village is the only restaurant in the VA I have found to serve this dish.
After Sunday brunch we went to Super H and found XO sauce. This sauce made of chilies and dried seafood is the SHIT. Been looking to buy it for the longest time...but more about that later.
For dinner on Sunday I wanted to try something with the XO sauce, and found a recipe online. The dish is a chinese omelette with XO sauce and chicken. I had no chicken so substituted ground meat. YUM
