Upon arriving at the office this morning I proceeded through my normal routine. Tea, bathroom and then browsing the news. Shock and disbelief washed over me followed by elation, I was accosted with huge headlines that read: "Those Damn Yankees!"
The Boston Red Sox had completed one of the most improbable comebacks in sports history, down 3-0 in a best of seven series against their bitter rivals, with a 100 year old curse hanging above their collective heads, the Sox rallied to win the series. It is hard to explain pride over a sports team but I am pretty damn pumped up right now.
On an otherwise dank and dreary day this is just the lift that was needed. Well work beckons, but it will be completed without the normal grumbles.
