I am teh master
So, this week I quit. It's pretty awesome to think that I won't have to drag myself through classes like my CP tonight anymore!!! ha ha ha!!
On Tuesday night, with shaky ands and in terrible Japanese, I told my manager that I wanted to quit. She was shaken, but handled the situation with such reflexive reactions that it makes me think managers at Aeon are actually trained in what to do if a teacher suddenly decides to quit. I expected trainers to come in and talk to me, or a guilt trip like other people have mentioned, but there was none of that. It was surprisingly easy, and aside from being reminded several times about the burden I'm putting on everyone, there's been no big reactions about it. The head teacher even wrote me a letter aying she understood how I felt because she had considered quitting before too. Ha ha ha!
And today I started telling the students. Some of them were understandably upset, and even got kind of teary, but everyone seemed to understand. Although it's a sad thing, they're used to it.
Annnnd today I found a place to live. It's a roomshare in 大井町 in an awesome 3LDK. I get a 6畳 tatami room with a balcony, there's a １２畳 living room, seperate kitchen, and the one guy I met seems to be pretty cool. Thank you mixi!!!
So far this whole thing has been really easy. On Monday I have a date at 1pm to sign the contract. I hope everything works out!! And on the 2nd, Hodaka will be coming to Tokyo for 2 weeks to do training for his new job, woot.
Things are looking up for once!!
